Frequently Asked Questions

Our usual office hours are 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. However, we understand that, at times, you may need to see us outside of these hours and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. If the matter is urgent we can arrange to meet you on the weekend.

Our main office branch is located at 62 Grant Street, Bacchus Marsh. However by appointment, we can arrange to meet you at Futura Financial Group at 530 Little Collins Street or at Trenton ‘s Building, 9 Sun Crescent, Sunshine or by prior agreement, at your home or office pending the urgency of your matter.

We speak plain English. We want our clients to understand what it is that we are doing for them and will explain things as clearly as possible even if there are complex legal issues involved. We also speak Vietnamese.
We do not offer first interview free. Your time is valuable and so is ours and therefore we provide you with an opportunity to first discuss your matter with us over the phone to determine whether you should pursue the matter and whether we can assist you. Our initial telephone consultation of up to 15 minutes duration is free and on a no obligation basis.

We ask that you bring with you all relevant paperwork or other evidence so that we may briefly examine and advise you. We ask you for your contact details and usually discuss the background of the matter. We then ask you what outcome you would like to achieve:
• If it is a legal document, such as a will or power of attorney, we will take your instructions and craft a document suited to your needs and circumstances.
• If is a dispute or problem you want us to help you with, we will discuss with you the relevant law and the possible outcomes.
Finally we will discuss the costs involved and the value of our services.

No, we offer fixed fee billing across all our legal services. We have a value-based billing philosophy. Law firms will usually charge a “mark up” on their fees and disbursements in most “no win, no fee” cases. This means that their clients end up paying substantially more at the end of the matter. In the event the client does not obtain a successful outcome, they will most likely still be liable for disbursements and legal costs of the other party. We prefer to be transparent with our clients from the outset to ensure that they see real value in the services we provide.

What our past clients have to say

Anyone who has experienced purchasing a home, knows just how stressful the process can be. Even more so when the property is a new development which can be complicated with land subdivisions, new titles etc.
Both Matt and Daniel especially from Contact Lawyers were exceptional in handling my purchase of a new town house. They were on the ball in keeping in regular contact with my bank and the vendor’s solicitors. An issue arose which almost delayed my settlement (my bank’s fault) and they went above and beyond to help provide a solution and rectify the issue. Honest, transparent, direct and no legal jargon. Couldn’t recommend enough and will be directing all my legal issues here in the future.
